The centre is the conventional place, and it is where SweQR puts it. A camera relies on the large square markers in the corners to find the code and work out its orientation, so artwork placed over those corners, or over the edges of the pattern, causes trouble sooner than the same artwork in the middle.
What matters more than the exact spot is how much of the pattern the logo obstructs and how clearly it stands apart from what is underneath. There is no universal “safe” coverage figure to copy — a bigger logo, a busier logo or a weaker contrast all reduce the margin a scanner has to work with. Grow the logo gradually, keep the space around it and around the whole code clear, and let the automatic check on your exact artwork tell you where the limit is for the design you are actually building.
It can. A QR code does not store its data only once — it stores extra, repeated information alongside it, so a reader can reconstruct the content even when part of the pattern is missing, smudged or covered. That redundancy is why a centre logo is possible at all.
It is also finite. Every module the logo hides eats into the same allowance that print wear, poor lighting, reflections and low-resolution cameras also draw on. A large logo, a low-contrast color pair or a crowded margin can each push a code past the point where a phone reads it reliably.

There is no single safe percentage: it depends on how much data the code carries, the contrast, the print size and the scanning device. The practical approach is to start small, increase the logo size gradually, and rely on the automatic scan check plus your own device tests to tell you when you have gone too far.
A file you have already downloaded or printed does not change by itself — the artwork is a finished image. You can always make a new design with a different logo and download it again. Changing where an already-printed code leads is a different thing entirely, and that is what a paid dynamic QR code is for.
The image itself does not expire; a static QR code keeps encoding the same address for as long as the printed or saved artwork exists. What can change is the destination — if that page moves or goes offline, the code still points at the old address. A dynamic QR code is destination-editable while it is served under an active plan, which is separate from the free static artwork described here.
